BMW has revealed the next generation of the X5, the Sports Activity Vehicle that created the segment. The U.S. rollout begins in October 2026 with the X5 40 xDrive. The rear-wheel-drive X5 40, the plug-in hybrid X5 50e xDrive and the first all-electric iX5 60 xDrive follow in the first quarter of 2027, and a V8-powered M Performance variant is scheduled to arrive later in 2027. Every model is built at BMW's Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina. Contact BMW of Palm Springs to be notified as allocation and ordering open for each model.
What's confirmed for the U.S. lineup
- Four models at launch: X5 40, X5 40 xDrive, X5 50e xDrive and iX5 60 xDrive.
- First all-electric X5: the iX5 60 xDrive joins the range with an estimated 435 miles of range and an estimated 4.4-second 0–60 mph time.
- V8 M Performance variant: scheduled to arrive later in 2027.
- Built in the U.S.: production at Plant Spartanburg, South Carolina.
